This weekend is for the foodies, because it’s pop-up after pop-up. Wanna combat food waste while dining out? Imperfect Foods and New Belgium have you covered with the first ever Denver Food Waste Week. Wanna sip wine while getting a sneak peek of Denver’s new private members club? There’s a free happy hour waiting for you. Or maybe you prefer brunch and bubbly, or dumplings, or Venezuelan soup. That’s all on the menu for this weekend too. All you have to do is show up and eat.

Combat food waste by dining on Imperfect Food specials

Imperfect Foods is a grocery box delivery service focused on building a less wasteful food system that recently launched in Denver. Now, they’ve teamed up with New Belgium Brewing for the first ever Denver Food Waste Week. Participating Denver restaurants like Brass Tacks, Cart-Driver, Jax Fish House, and more are creating specials using foods that otherwise would have gone to landfills. You can also try the limited edition Waste Not, Want Hop IPA from Imperfect Foods and New Belgium which is exclusively available at the participating restaurants as well as at The Woods at The Source Hotel. A percentage of each menu item and beer purchased will directly benefit the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Clayton Members Club & Hotel
This new 63-room boutique hotel and private members club in Cherry Creek is debuting the first of its three public facing restaurants this weekend and you’re invited. Celebrate the grand opening of OAK Market at a free happy hour from 3 - 6 pm where you can enjoy bits and sips like ice cream, coffee, wine, charcuterie, cheese, and more. Plus, while you’re there, you can also get a tour of the hotel and members club before it officially opens.

Have a picnic in a garden igloo

The Cooper Lounge has a new outdoor dining option that’s perfect for spring: picnics on the plaza. Reserve your garden igloo for a private dining experience for up to four people and you’ll get a picnic basket loaded with Southern favorites including honey smoked BBQ ribs, cold fried chicken, mini cornbread muffins, and more. Reservations are available Fridays and Saturdays from 4 - 8 pm
Cost: $75 per person plus $50 garden igloo reservation fee

Get some Venezuelan soup for dinner

Comal Heritage Food Incubator
More than a restaurant, Comal is a place where immigrant women learn culinary and business skills as they work toward building their own ventures. This month, one participant, Olivia Marcano, is sharing her Venezuelan cuisine with Friday Soup Days at Comal. The soups change weekly and are available to order for pickup or delivery. Featured this Friday is sopa de pollo con arepas de maiz.

See Maggie Rose perform live at a wine dinner

Have a date to impress? This should do it. Enjoy an intimate concert from singer Maggie Rose at this special omakase dinner from Chef Duy Pham. You’ll kick things off with a welcome cocktail followed by a four course meal with wine pairings before the performance begins after dinner.

Try some new cocktails and see live music

Poka Lola Social Club
Spring cocktails have arrived at this Dairy Block bar and you can sip your way through new additions like the Butterfly Effect featuring Family Jones gin while enjoying live music. This Saturday’s featured musician is pianist and songwriter Eli Theo who will be performing from 6 - 9 pm.

Eat all the dumplings at a pop-up

Fox Run Cafe
A pandemic-born business, Oh Golly Dumplings was started by the husband and wife team of Sara Timmer and Ryan Van Splinter. They’ll be popping up at this Colfax restaurant with their menu of Asian eats for one night only with takeout available 4 - 5 pm and dine-in from 5 - 9 pm. The menu will also include a Yuzu Trifle from Fox Run's general manager and pastry chef and cocktails from The Family Jones.

Sip sparkling wine at a Colorado Bubbles Brunch

Blanchard Family Wines and Sauvage Spectrum have teamed up for this brunch pop-up that’s all about Colorado made bubbly. You’ll learn about the wine making process while tasting a three wine flight paired with a three course brunch featuring dishes like a breakfast banana split and pulled pork Benedict.
