Fun Things to Do in Denver This Weekend

Christmas in July, anyone?

Denver will be rocking, dancing, and celebrating this weekend. We will also be Christmas in July-ing, muddy obstacle-ing, and Ferris wheeling. Some of us will be rodeoing, arting, and drinking (responsibly!). Which -ing will you be doing?

Tackle the Tough Mudder

Saturday - Sunday
Do you like running 10-plus miles, scaling three-story walls, and fighting your way through a slew of other scary obstacles? And getting really dirty in the process? After a year off, the Tough Mudder returns with all the mud-soaked mayhem you need this weekend.
Cost: From $79

Get into the spirit at this Christmas in July party

Saturday, 3 - 7 pm
Cherry Creek
If you’re one of those people who decorates a tree before Halloween and listens to Christmas music year-round, then you’re going to want to be at the Cherry Creek Beer Garden on Saturday for their Christmas in July party. (And if you’re a Christmas scrooge, then you’ll want to avoid it at all costs.) There  will be a burger drop by Shake Shack, music by Foreign Roots, holiday cocktails, and plenty of Christmas magic.
Cost: Free entry

Say happy birthday to LUKI Brewery at their carnival party

Saturday, 12 - 10 pm
The circus-themed LUKI Brewery is hosting a carnival party to celebrate the, well, three-ring circus of a first year they had. Play carnival games, eat fair food (deep-fried Oreos and funnel cake will be ready for your consumption), and drink some beer at the family and dog-friendly brewery.
Cost: Free entry

Sample away at Summer Brew Fest

Saturday, 1 - 10 pm
It’s a bird, it’s a plane; no! It’s something totally unrelated! Summer Brew Fest hits Mile High Station on Saturday, with unlimited tastings from some of the city’s top breweries. Besides all the beer, there will be music from That Damn Sasquatch, Cover Boy, and Robby Peoples.
Cost: From $40

Get into the Clyfford Still Museum for free

Sunday, 10 am - 5 pm
Golden Triangle
In honor of the ADA’s (Americans with Disabilities Act) 31st anniversary on July 26, Denver’s Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) is sponsoring a Free Day at the Clyfford Still Museum. Explore the artist’s work chronologically and thematically, in the current exhibition, Stories We Tell: The Collection Two Ways.
Cost: Free entry

Dance, dance, and dance some more at the Global Dance Festival

Friday - Saturday, 3 pm
Empower Field
There’s more music and dancing to be had at Empower Field this weekend than you can shake a stick at; which is to say, lots of music and dancing. Oh, and crazy costumes, brand-new art installations, gourmet food trucks, roaming stilters, and so many positive vibes. And you can shake a stick at all that, too, if you want.
Cost: From $99

Act like a kid at this jam-packed fair

Friday - Sunday, 11 am - midnight
Don’t take this in a bad way, but we think you need more mutton bustin’ and Ferris wheels in your life. You can load up on both at the Arapahoe County Fair, along with unlimited carnival rides, rodeos, fireworks, and a petting zoo.
Cost: $15

Shop and sip at the Friday Night Bazaar

Friday, 4 - 9 pm
You could go to the mall and over serve yourself at California Pizza Kitchen, or you could hit the streets of RiNo and browse the goods from more than 40 local creators and enjoy an open bar ($30; from 6 - 8 pm). Your move.
Cost: Free entry
