Denver Fun Things to Do in Denver This Weekend

Halloween parades, haunted mansions, and more.

The ghosts, ghouls, and goblins about town are officially on the clock: We’re just a little over a week away from Halloween, which means if you haven’t dusted off your fake blood and wig collections yet, you better get on it. Spooktober is in full effect this weekend, from a Halloween parade to haunted mansions to pumpkin carving bonanzas. If you prefer your free time zombie-free, there’s a music and dance festival and Adult Prom going down, too. Here’s what to do and where to be this weekend in Denver.

Break out the corsages, it’s time for Adult Prom

Saturday, 7 - 11 pm
RiNo
What’s more magical than real prom? How about the fake-ish Adult Prom, where you’re old enough to drink and can stay out as late as you want. Number Thirty Eight will host the big night, where you can dance and drink curfew-free! (Well, kind of. It shuts down at 11, but we believe in you and your creative after-prom ideas.) Bonus: Proceeds benefit the Rocky Mountain Alliance Children’s Foundation.
Cost: $45

Catch a parade of the undead

Saturday, 6 pm
Broadway
Sort of like the anti-rose parade, Broadway’s Halloween Parade celebrates the spooky and the dead. Don that flashy costume and line up between 5th and Alameda to cheer on the creepy marchers, zombie bands, and hair-raising floats.
Cost: Free entry

Hit up this patch and fall fest

Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm
Aurora
Still need a pumpkin? Stop by Stanley Marketplace for its 4th annual pumpkin patch and fall festival, where you can get a side of face painting and empanadas with your gourd.
Cost: Free entry

Carve and drink at Union Station

Sunday, 3 - 6 pm
Union Station
Yes, there could potentially be some negative repercussions when pairing alcohol with sharp instruments, but we’re sure that Union Station’s Terminal Bar knows what they’re doing and that all participants will be very responsible when partaking in Sunday’s Carving & Cocktails event. Tickets get you a pumpkin, said sharp instruments, and a seasonal cocktail. Don’t lose a finger.
Cost: $35

Do Halloween at McGregor Scare

Friday, 7 pm, Saturday - Sunday, 5 pm
LoDo
Watch out! McGregor Square has been transformed into McGregor Scare, which means that Milepost Zero’s outdoor plaza will be chock-full of Jack-o-Lantern cocktails (drinks served in giant pumpkin buckets), Halloween games, tarot readings, pumpkin decorating, and seasonal movies. Be there or be scared.
Cost: Free entry

Tour the haunted Marijuana Mansion

Friday-Sunday, 1 pm - close
Capitol Hill
The Marijuana Mansion is part immersive art experience, part private event space, part historic marijuana monument, and all haunted. Take a tour of the mansion’s 11 Instagram-favorite rooms, which are all decked out to match their spooky history, and come away with supernatural stories of your own.
Cost: From $35

Hang with spirits and spirits at Four Mile Park

Saturday, 6 - 10 pm
Cherry Creek
It’s a well-known fact that ghost stories are made even spookier when paired with Halloween-y cocktails and Victorian mourning ceremonies. Catch all of these things at Saturday’s Spirits & Spirits night at Four Mile Historic Park, where you’ll take a lantern-lit tour of the haunted museum, create your own Victorian mourning card and coffin plate, and be reviled by spooky stories.
Cost: From $50

Dance and merrymake at the Animas Festival

Friday - Saturday, 5 pm - 2 am
RiNo
The final Animas Festival of the year will be happening this weekend, so get thyself to RiNo for your fill of dancing, cannabis bussing, food trucking, sound healing, live painting, and fire performer watching.
Cost: From $25
