Everything Fun to Do in Denver This Weekend

These are all your local must-hit food and music festivals, events, movies, markets, deals, and concerts to help you make the most of your weekend.

Sure, there are signs of fall—Oktoberfest but make it dogs; the return of football—but with so many events happening in Denver this weekend, it feels like summer is still in full swing. There’s a festival dedicated to hard seltzer, a big outdoor music showcase, Art RiNo, and Denver Food & Wine. Plus a 9/11 memorial stair climb and new drag brunch. Here, all the places to be and things to do in Denver this weekend.

Saturday, 11 am
Overland
Seltzerheads, this is what you’ve been waiting for: a festival dedicated to hard seltzer. And as the great sage Lizzo predicted, it’s about damn time. Play seltzer pong, drink 100-plus seltzers, and take selfies in the White Claw inflatable bubble booth. All the seltzer fun is going down at Overland Golf Course at Seltzerland on Saturday.
Cost: From $35

Friday & Saturday
RiNo
It’ll be like an all-you-can-listen buffet in RiNo this weekend, as the Westword Music Showcase brings electronic, indie, hip-hop, rock, country, folk, and more to the streets and stages at Mission Ballroom Outdoors. Consider danceable footwear, because we care about your comfort.
Cost: From $45

Saturday, 1 pm
RiNo
How do you improve upon the glorious annual beer event that is Oktoberfest? You add dogs. River North Brewery hosts Dogtoberfest on Saturday, combining beer, food, and pups. Adoptable dogs will be there for the cuddling and Fetch Photo Truck will be set up to take glamorous photos of your labs and pugs.

Join some of Denver’s most fabulous queens at Ash’Kara’s drag brunch, Babes and Baklava. Down bottomless drinks, check out brunch specials like pastrami and eggs on a warm pita, watch an amazing show, and support the Center on Colfax’s Rainbow Alley Project.

The focus of the 9/11 stair climb at Red Rocks isn’t on who has the best time, but on remembrance of all those lost on September 11, 2001. Climb, remember, and support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation as you climb the equivalent of the 110-story World Trade Center.

Friday - Sunday

There are a lot of cool events to do and see as the inaugural Art RiNo week finishes up this weekend. From art walks to pop-up DJ sets to a RiNo bar crawl to just checking out all the new murals, it’s an art explosion in the neighborhood.

Keep the weekend going through Monday night, when the Broncos kick off their season at the Seattle Seahawks. (AKA, new QB Russell Wilson’s former team.) The Rally Hotel is hosting Tailgate on the Terrace from their third-floor perch, where you’ll take touchdown shots, eat your fill of hot dogs and burgers, and watch all the action on McGregor Square’s big screen.
