It’s a big weekend for Colorado food, fashion, and frozen dead guys. Also for St. Patrick’s Day parties and skates, as well as pop-up markets, basketball, and drag brunch. So yeah, there’s a lot to do in Denver this weekend. Let’s get to it.
Friday
Around town
The luck of the Irish is peaking on March 17, and there’s no shortage of spots to fill you up on green beer. Check out the Stanley Marketplace’s step dance performances and green cerveza at Cheluna Brewing Co., The Ginn Mill’s bar crawl and block party, or Scruffy Murphy’s all-day annual extravaganza.

Estes Park
Coffin races, frozen turkey bowling, frostbite fashion show, costumed polar plunge, and the frozen dead poet slam are just some of the less-than-normal events you’ll find at Frozen Dead Guy Days, an annual festival to celebrate Grandpa Bredo, who’s cryogenically frozen in a Tuff Shed somewhere in Nederland. (No, we’re not making any of this up.) This year’s event moves the fun up to Estes Park, for even more frozen-ness.

Various locations
Bar TVs all over town will be tuned in to college basketball this weekend, as bracket busters and Cinderella stories will be made. All Tap & Burger locations have a new menu just for March Madness and will be showing the first and second round games all weekend long.

OK, so this theme for skate night at Tracks isn’t quite as inspired or quirky as others (Golden Girls and Dolly Parton themes were can’t-miss), but you can get creative with this Friday’s Lucky Charm Roll. Think of the costume possibilities: Sexy Leprechaun, Jolly Green Giant, the Incredible Hulk. Just roll with it.
Cost: From $10
Start Sunday at this drag brunch

Join some of Denver’s most fabulous queens at Zeppelin Station’s Moulin Rouge-themed drag brunch, Le Rouge Spectacular. Down fancy French-inspired drinks, feast on pork belly benedict, and watch an amazing show. (Be sure to bring those dollar bills!)

Need a little extra motivation to ditch Amazon and shop locally? How about 20 local creatives setting up shop inside a food hall, so you can browse with a cocktail and stop into a restaurant when you’re feeling peckish? The Source is hosting a pop-up night market, featuring an all-Colorado line-up of vendors selling their cool wares.

Downtown
Try something new for dinner this weekend at one of the many recently opened restaurants around town. Check out the Roman-style pizza at Sofia’s Roman Pizza on the 16th Street Mall, Mexican fare at Caldero in McGregor Square, and charcuterie classes and delivery at Gourmet Ghost.
