Get ready to rock the Denver Metro area this weekend! From finger-licking good BBQ
battles at Q BBQ Fest to tomato-tastic fun at The Bloody Mary Festival, and indulging in
culinary delights at First Bite Boulder, it's a foodie's paradise. Cheer on the Colorado
Avalanche as they hit the ice, show off your flannel fashion at the Fall Flannel Festival, and
join the spooky fun at the Ghosts and Goblins & Hoofing it through the hollows 5K. Denver's
serving up a weekend full of flavor, excitement, and Halloween haunts!
October 20 - 21
Folsom Field, Tickets: From $20
Attention smoked meat lovers: the Q BBQ Fest is setting up its smokers at Folsom Field all weekend long. There will be pork shoulder sliders, ribs, Texas-style brisket, and a whole lot of other stuff because they’re smoking up loads of sweet, sweet meat. All the champion pitmasters will be there, and so should you. (Unless you’re a vegetarian; then you may want to skip this one.)
October 22, 12 - 3:30 pm
Reelworks Denver, Tickets: From $49.50
If you live and die for Bloody Marys, well, you might want to expand your interests. But you’ll also want to hit Sunday’s Bloody Mary Festival, where you can spend three and a half hours sipping on your passion. Besides the Bloodys—which we’re sure will have crazy, Insta-worthy garnishes — there’s also food, because man and woman cannot live on lycopene alone.
October 20 - 22
Boulder, Free entry
Boulder county restaurants have put together special menus for First Bite Boulder, running from October 20 - 29. Participating restaurants include Sugarbeet, River & Woods, Japango, and Basta, and some even offer special First Bite brunch menus.
October 20 - 22
Cherry Creek, Free entry
You’re in for a CANtastic time as Canstruction Colorado takes over the Cherry Creek Shopping Center through October. The city-wide competition pits architects and designers against each other in an attempt to build the biggest, most CANscendent structure using only canned food. The displays are a sight to behold, but the best part is that all the food is donated to We Don’t Waste.
October 21, 6 pm
Broadway, Free entry
Sort of like the anti-rose parade, Broadway’s Halloween Parade celebrates the spooky and the (un)dead. Don that flashy costume and line up between 5th and Alameda to cheer on the creepy marchers, zombie bands, and hair-raising floats.
Ball Arena, Tickets: From $60
Hockey is back, which means the Colorado Avalanche are returning to the ice to try to win another title. Head to Ball Arena Saturday night when the Avs take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
October 22, 11 am - 2 pm
Dairy Block, Free entry
Knock off your entire fall bucket list in one afternoon at Dairy Block’s Fall Flannel Festival. Eating pumpkin pastries? Check. Steal some major pumpkin carving skills? Done. Get up close and personal with creepy crawlies? You can do that too, thanks to the Denver Aquarium’s roving snake station. Wear your costume in a non-Halloween, non-party setting? How’s Sunday morning at 11 am for you?
October 22, 9 am
City Park, Tickets: $36
Your Halloween month plans may not be, well, the healthiest, so do at least something good for your health by running this 5K Sunday morning. The course winds through the park and finishes with food and drink vendors and a medal.
