Denver Upcoming Weekend Events

All right, this is not a drill. It’s officially the last weekend of summer 2020. Head out for the reimagined, social-distancing friendly return of two fests: Crush Walls and the Vail Wine Classic. Plus there’s live music in an intimate venue, a special one-day-only brunch celebrating all things maple, a vertical beer tasting, and a bike-in movie at a brewery. It’s been a strange summer for sure, without the usual beer fests and big concerts. But we’ve made the most of what we’ve got. Now there’s one last weekend to go all out and say goodbye to the weirdest Mile High summer yet.

Celebrate the 11th year of Crush Walls

Monday, September 14-Sunday, September 20
RiNo
The River North arts district is known for its vibrant street and art and much of that is created during the annual Crush Walls street art fest. This year, the event will look a little different but the schedule is still packed with fun ways to engage with Denver’s art community including a street art vs. graffiti artist in-person panel, virtual events like a discussion on the law of street art, and a circus variety show at The Ramble Hotel.
Cost: It’s free to come out and check out the art in progress

Watch The Princess Bride at a bike-in movie night

Friday, September 18
Denver Beer Co Canworks
As you wish! Catch this cult classic fave at a two-wheeled style drive-in. Bike over with your blanket and chairs for an outdoor, socially distant movie night. Gates open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Each ticket includes a beer and food trucks will also be on site if you want to make this a dinner-and-a-movie night.
Cost: $20/person

Sip vino at the Vail Wine Classic

Friday, September 18 & Saturday, September 19
Vail
Newly reimagined for a social-distancing friendly event, the Vail Wine Classic is back and one important thing hasn’t changed: There’s gonna be a whole lot of wine for you to sample. Plus you’ll be sipping away with scenic Rocky Mountain views. Instead of one large Grand Tasting event, the day’s been split into four sessions so expect a VIP-like experience. Goodbye long lines, hello wine.
Cost: Grand tasting session tickets are $69

See a live, intimate outdoor concert

Friday, September 18 & Saturday, September 19
Lost City Denver
Missing live music? Lost City Live: An Independent Music Recovery Showcase is here to give you a fix. Socially distant seating for the outdoor sets is extremely limited (44 guests per show) so you can feel safe and comfortable. Plus proceeds from the event will go to local artists and others in the Mile High music scene. Friday’s headliners are Megan Burt & Chris Koza and Saturday features Los Mocochetes.
Cost: Single tickets are $2

Do a vertical beer tasting during the Fiesta de Independencia

Saturday, September 19
Dos Luces
Many Independence Day celebrations are happening this week in Central American and Mexico so Dos Luces is throwing one big party for them all. Come by anytime Saturday to taste their special release, Moctezuma III with Strawberry. But for a really special experience, book a spot for their vertical tasting at 2pm where you can sip two years of Moctezuma releases side by side.
Cost: $25

Brunch at the Sweet Moon Maple pop-up

Sunday, September 20
Coperta
This favorite for Italian fare has an executive sous chef, Russ Fox, who’s got a passion for maple syrup and he’s ready to show you why. After having to cancel their spring brunch, the event is back on this Sunday, 10am-1pm. This special brunch menu is available for one day only and features some creative spins on pancakes with everything from kimchi to Oreos and a cocktail that’s perfect for welcoming autumn, the cranberry maple negroni. Book your table online or by calling 720-749-4666.
Cost: All items will be available a la carte
