Everything Fun to Do in Denver This Weekend

‘Twas the week before Christmas, and you’ve probably procrastinated a bit… right? All good, ‘cause there are two holiday pop-up markets you should check out this weekend with lots of local, unique gifts. Already checked shopping off your list? Then head to an outdoor day drinking and gift wrapping party in RiNo. Or take a trek out of town altogether to check out a new interactive art and light display in Snowmass. But whatever you do, keep it safe, distant, and masked up, ‘cause we’re oh-so-close to wishing 2020 farewell.

Eat, drink, and shop at a pop-up market

Friday, December 18 & Saturday, December 19

Acreage & Fort Greene

Denver’s newest outdoor shopping and eating extravaganza is popping up again this weekend with two events including one at a new location. Friday from 3 - 7 pm the market filled with local food vendors and makers with unique goodies will be at Acreage in Lafayette and on Saturday, it’ll be back at its OG spot at Fort Greene in Globeville from 5 - 8 pm.

Cost: Free to attend

 

Shop the last weekend of the AF Holiday Market

Friday, December 18 - Sunday, December 20

American Field and Dairy Block’s socially distant holiday shopping experience inspired by European ski villages ends this weekend. Don’t miss your chance to browse the goods from 11 am - 5 pm. Items range from clothing to candles, coffees, homemade doggy treats, and more.

Cost: Free to attend but pre-registration is required

Friday, December 18 - Sunday, February 28

Snowmass

If you want to get out of town, consider a weekend getaway to Snowmass where even non-skiers and snowboarders can enjoy their new light and art installations that open this weekend. Snowmass Luminescence will be open nightly from sunset until 9 pm and includes features like an interactive series of LED illuminated walkways and arches plus a large-scale interactive LED installation, Submergence by Squidsoup (a second large scale installation opens February 1).

Go on a scavenger hunt for a custom ROAM bandana

Saturday, December 19

RiNo

On Saturday, ROAM RiNo will be hiding 50 tubes with custom bandanas featuring artwork by Olive Moya all around the RiNo Arts District. Your job? Head out and find one, post a photo of it on Instagram, and score a $10 gift card to a RiNo business, ‘cause who doesn’t love fun freebies?

Do your holiday gift wrapping while day drinking

Number Thirty Eight

This new spot featuring outdoor space for music and events, 24 taprooms, and four kitchens is throwing the gift wrapping party we all deserve in 2020. Reserve your spot online and they’ll supply the gift wrap supplies, scissors, tape, ribbons, and bows—all you need to bring is your unwrapped gifts. Carolers will be providing festive tunes as you prep for Christmas Day and enjoy food and drinks like local brews, bao buns, and loaded fries.

Cost: Free plus whatever you spend on drinks and eats

Stock up on goodies at a holiday bake sale

Sunday, December 20

Oak at Fourteenth, Boulder

Let the team at Oak satisfy your holiday sugar cravings. You can pre-order for easy pickup or order in person the day of. The bake sale runs 9 am - 12 pm and there will be tons of variety including Dan’s panettone, breakfast treats like cinnamon rolls and kolaches, and savory baked goods like everything pretzels.

Cost: Depends how much you order

 

Try your hand at foul-mouthed cross-stitching

Sunday, December 20

Grandma's House 

If you need a break from all the wholesomeness of the holidays, head to this brewery where you can craft just like grandma—except… dirtier. Go ahead, cross-stitch to your cursing, inappropriate-joke making heart’s content. 

Cost: $5 for supplies, but due to COVID restrictions you will need to bring your own scissors and pattern
